Symfony maintenance and support

Do you need someone who keeps your Symfony application running day to day? I take care of bugs, updates and new requirements, including code I did not write myself.

What I take on

  • Bug fixing and error analysis
  • Security and dependency updates (Composer, Symfony updates)
  • New features and small to medium enhancements
  • Tests that make errors visible early
  • Tidying up and documentation where the application needs it
  • Getting up to speed with grown applications that lack full documentation

Why legacy experience matters here

I look after a productive SaaS application myself, an ERP for the publishing industry, and am responsible for the entire application. Maintenance, new features and bug fixing are part of everyday work.

It is exactly this experience with a grown, productive application that I bring to your project.

How we start

  1. Getting to know each other: we clarify goals, availability and what is critical in your application.
  2. Getting up to speed: I read into the code before I change anything.
  3. First small tasks: typically bug fixes or updates, so we both see how the collaboration works.
  4. Ongoing support: if you like, I stay on as your go-to person for updates, bugs and further development.

Working together

I work exclusively remotely, from Mauritius (time zone UTC+4). Depending on the season, that is 2 to 3 hours ahead of Germany. I am currently available full time.

Frequently asked questions

Can you take over code you did not write?

Yes, that is exactly what I specialise in. I read into the code first and only then change anything.

Which Symfony versions can you support?

I work with Symfony 2 to 7. If the version is outdated, we discuss whether an upgrade makes sense.

What happens when a dependency has a security vulnerability?

I review the dependencies, apply suitable updates and test whether the application still runs afterwards.

Can you also build new features?

Yes. New functionality, APIs and integrations that fit cleanly into the existing code.
